Job summary

Independence Health System Inc. is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to prepare, measure, and administer radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic scans. The role involves ensuring proper patient identification, consent, and preparation as well as coordinating with radiologists.

You will analyze assessment data to determine optimal scanning parameters, administer doses, and adjust imaging to achieve diagnostic quality. Travel between local system locations may be required.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a (JRCNMT) accredited nuclear medicine program.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and independent thinking with sound judgment.
  • Ability to explain complex topics clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Preferred: 1 year nuclear medicine experience.
  • Licensure/Certification: NMTCB and/or ARRT with Nuclear Medicine credentialing; BLS; Act 33/34/73; FBI clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Collects data about patient and procedure; verifies identity and physician orders.
  • Explains procedure to patient and confirms informed consent.
  • Analyzes data to determine scanning parameters per diagnosis and prep.
  • Administers radiopharmaceuticals under radiologist direction; positions patient.
  • Adjusts imaging parameters and assesses image quality; sends images to PACS.
  • Documents patient care, exam details, and history in HIS/RIS/PACS; maintains records.
