Job summary

UNC Health Care in Eden, NC is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform and teach diagnostic procedures in nuclear medicine. You will administer radiopharmaceuticals, operate advanced instruments, and analyze data under supervision.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
  • ARRT or NMTCB registration or eligible and registered within 1 year.
  • BLS for Healthcare Provider certification.

Responsibilities

  • Administers radiopharmaceuticals and records dose and administration details.
  • Explains exams to patients and collects informed consent; inputs patient data into the radiology management system.
  • Evaluates requisitions, performs patient assessment, and coordinates pregnancy testing as ordered.
  • May perform advanced duties as in PET imaging or lead technologist roles.
  • Handles radiopharmaceuticals with proper disposal and safety according to NRC guidelines.
  • Ensures correct dose, activity, quality control, and proper documentation in dose records.
  • Sets up acquisitions, maintains patient comfort and safety, analyzes images, and submits to physician for approval.
  • Uses RIS, CIS, SMS and PACS to generate documentation and coordinates patient transport.
