Job summary

Hartford HealthCare Nuclear Medicine position seeks a skilled technologist to perform diagnostic procedures in a hospital outpatient setting. You will operate imaging cameras, prepare radiopharmaceuticals, and position patients to capture high-quality diagnostic images under NRC rules.

Responsibilities include ensuring patient safety, maintaining compliance with HIPAA and radiation protections, and reviewing orders for accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine program.
  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • CNMT (NMTCB) or ARRT(N) certification and BLS required.

Responsibilities

  • Operates nuclear imaging equipment and prepares radiopharmaceuticals for nuclear radiologic studies.
  • Prepares and positions patients for exams and administers isotopes as needed.
  • Orders, prepares, administers, and disposes of radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols; adheres to NRC regulations and radiation safety standards.
  • Adheres to HIPAA, OSHA, Joint Commission and NRC guidelines for radiation and patient protection and record keeping.
  • Reviews orders and patient information to ensure correct procedures and proper patient preparation.
  • Assesses exam appropriateness using pre-established guidelines and interviews patients.
