Job summary

Ohio Valley Surgical Hospital in Ohio is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform a wide variety of nuclear medicine procedures under the supervision of the Radiologist and Imaging Manager. You will prepare radiopharmaceuticals, operate imaging equipment, maintain records, and ensure quality control and safety for patients.

You will also participate in staff education and ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technologist program, and one year of related work experience in the field of nuclear medicine.
  • License/Certification: Ohio State certification as a Radiologic Technologist.
  • NMTCB or ARRT (N) certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Operates and maintains quality control for imaging equipment and radioactivity devices; calibrates cameras per protocols.
  • Prepares radiopharmaceuticals; administers to patients; ensures supplies and safety protocols.
  • Operates nuclear medicine computers; processes studies to produce high quality images.
  • Maintains records and logs as required by protocols and licensure.
  • Disposes of and stores radioactive materials per law; surveys waste for radiation levels.
  • Schedules patients; reviews charts for pertinent history for radiologist interpretation.
  • Performs venipuncture and administers IV contrast under radiologist supervision.
