Stability Direct is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a job in Whittier, California.

Recognized among the Top 5% in the Nation for Overall Clinical Performance from 2007-2010 and rated five stars across various areas by HealthGrades, the hospital provides medical care to communities including East Los Angeles, El Monte, Montebello, Pico Rivera, Monterey Park, Whittier, and surrounding areas.

Details:

  • $10,000 sign-on bonus
  • $55.00 - $77 hourly rate, based on experience
  • Day shift only, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm or 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
  • No weekend call

Job Summary:

Administers radiopharmaceuticals or radiation intravenously to detect or treat diseases using radioisotope equipment. Administers medical substances for imaging or other procedures. Performs screening procedures for diagnostic interpretation. Coordinates patient flow and maintains procedure quality control.

Job Requirements:

Education and Work Experience:

  • Diploma or certificate from an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine (Required)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in nuclear medicine technology or equivalent

Licenses/Certifications:

  • State Nuclear Medicine License (Required in CA and HI)
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) in Nuclear Medicine OR Certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) (Required in CA and OR)
  • Venipuncture certification (Required in CA and HI)
  • State Nuclear Med Tech (SNMT)

Facility Specific License/Certifications:

  • ARRT or NMTCB certification
  • Venipuncture (IV) certification

Essential Functions:

  • Prepares, administers, and measures radioactive isotopes in therapeutic, diagnostic, and tracer studies. Prepares stock solutions and calculates doses. Executes blood volume, red cell survival, and fat absorption studies. Administers intravenous injections following procedures.
  • Performs screening procedures for diagnostic interpretation.
  • Documents all pertinent information regarding radioactive materials and surveys.
  • Obtains patient information and provides preparation instructions.
  • Seeks guidance from senior staff for complex issues.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
