Job description

Job Description: Nuclear Medicine Technologist

The nuclear medicine technologist provides health care services using radionuclides to assist in diagnosis and treatment. They possess advanced skills to perform a wide variety of nuclear medicine procedures, data processing, and other technical tasks necessary to produce images for interpretation by, and at the request of, a licensed practitioner. They exercise professional judgment in performing services and maintain a demeanor aligned with medical ethics while providing appropriate care essential for the successful completion of procedures.

Required Qualifications:

• Completion of an AMA-approved radiologic technologist training program.
• Certification as a National Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board upon hire, or
• National Registered Technologist in Nuclear Medicine Technology upon hire.
• California Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification upon hire.
• National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.
• Six months of recent experience, or a minimum of two years of full-time experience with no more than one year of absence from nuclear medicine.

Preferred Qualifications:

• One year of experience in nuclear medicine (not required if recent graduate from an approved technician training program).
