Base pay range

$56.00/hr - $75.00/hr

Job Title: PET Technologist (Nuclear Medicine & PET-CT Certified)

Schedule Options:

• Long-Term: 3 days/week, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM or 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Per Diem opportunity also available

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and certified PET Technologist to join our diagnostic imaging team. Reporting to the Director of PET and under the clinical supervision of the reading physician, you will perform PET/CT imaging for patients across all age groups, ensuring adherence to clinical, regulatory, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform PET/CT scans following established protocols and physician instructions
• Administer radiopharmaceuticals and contrast agents safely and accurately
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, NYS DOH, and radiation safety regulations
• Review medical histories and screening forms to verify exam readiness
• Operate and calibrate imaging equipment (PET, CT, dose calibrators, etc.)
• Archive imaging data using PACS, MIM, and Syngo systems
• Maintain accurate records of radiopharmaceutical usage and radiation exposure
• Conduct routine quality assurance and contamination control procedures
• Manage imaging supplies and assist colleagues as needed

Required Skills & Experience

• Proficient in IV access and injection (manual and injector systems)
• Strong knowledge of nuclear medicine and PET/CT equipment and protocols
• Able to produce high-quality diagnostic images with minimal supervision
• Familiar with PACS/RIS systems and digital image processing workflows
• Flexible, reliable, and team-oriented, with strong communication skills
• Competent in PET-CT image processing and QA procedures
• Familiarity with SNMMI Quality Standards, infection control, and BLS protocols

Education & Certifications

Required:

• Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program
• Certification by NMTCB or ARRT (N)
• ARRT (CT) certification required for PET-CT imaging
• Current BLS certification

Preferred:

• Ongoing education or advanced training in PET/CT and molecular imaging
