Job Posting: Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Location: Hackensack, NJ 07601

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM (5 x 8-hour shifts)

No weekends, no holidays, no on-call required

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our Radiology Department. This role involves diagnostic imaging and nuclear medicine procedures, ensuring safe and accurate imaging to support high-quality patient care.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist in a hospital setting
  • Proficiency in performing Nuclear Medicine and/or PET exams
  • ARRT (N) certification

Additional Skills & Experience:

  • PET and CT imaging experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate Nuclear Medicine equipment and provide immobilization devices for procedures
  • Evaluate radio images using PACS to ensure proper identification and diagnostic quality
  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals and radioactive tracer compounds
  • Perform radionuclide procedures, including organ imaging and functional studies
  • Assist physicians with therapeutic use of radioisotopes
  • Calibrate equipment and assay radiopharmaceuticals according to regulations
  • Receive, inspect, and track radiopharmaceutical packages per NRC and state guidelines
  • Maintain accurate records of isotope usage, storage, and disposal
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain contamination-free environments (NRC, State, JCAHO)
  • Rotate through work assignments such as Cardiology and PET/CT
  • Perform clerical duties using EPIC, Nuclear Medicine Information Systems, and scheduling tools
  • Greet patients using AIDET standards and adhere to organizational values
  • Modify and deliver care specific to patient needs and cultural considerations

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Hourly rate: $65-68/hr
  • Weekly pay: $2,600 - $2,720
  • Estimated after-tax weekly pay: $1,950 - $2,040

Travel and Lodging:

  • Lodging: $27.30/hr ($1092/week)
  • Per diem (M&IE): $15.05/hr ($602/week)

Total Compensation:

  • Hourly: $42.35/hr
  • Weekly: $1,694

W2 Salary: $30/hr ($1200/week)

Grand Total Weekly Compensation: $2,894

Estimated After-Tax Weekly Total: $2,594
