Responsibilities
  • Days and shifts vary, including weekends, holidays, and on-call responsibilities.
  • The Staff Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs departmental Nuclear and PET/CT examinations, assists radiologists during procedures, and produces high-quality images.
  • Follows standards established by radiologists and complies with applicable state, local, and federal regulations.
  • Serves patient populations across all ages: pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
  • Uses two patient identifiers to ensure accuracy.
  • Verifies doctor’s orders against requisitions.
  • Assesses patients for artifacts and takes measures to prevent interference.
  • Calculates, prepares, and administers proper patient doses and radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Properly disposes of radioactive waste and contaminated materials.
  • Prioritizes workload effectively.
  • Coordinates multiple exams to avoid conflicts.
  • Determines optimal imaging based on doctor’s orders and patient diagnosis.
  • Monitors patient’s condition, comfort, and safety during procedures.
  • Reports any changes in patient’s condition to the physician.
  • Communicates patient information accurately and timely to team members.
  • Operates diagnostic and communication equipment safely.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
  • Registered or eligible for registration in Nuclear Medicine.
  • Must be registered within 3 months of hire.
  • AHA BLS certification.

Pay Range

$29.02 - $42.08 per hour
