Job summary

New York Oncology Hematology (NYOH) is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform diagnostic PET/CT imaging and related therapy procedures. You will collaborate with the Radiation Service Director on technical issues and QA, ensuring compliance with NYOH standards.

The role requires PET/CT certification or ARRT(N) and CNMT, with 3–5 years of nuclear medicine experience. Eligible candidates should be licensed where required and ready to work at NYOH locations in the Capital Region.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelors degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or Radiologic Technology from an AMA accredited program and PET/CT certification.
• Minimum three to five years experience in nuclear medicine and/or previous PET experience preferred.
• CNMT and/or ARRT certification and state licensure where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic PET/CT imaging or therapy procedures including injection of radiopharmaceuticals, administration of oral contrast, protocol setup, patient positioning, reconstruction and image filing.
• Assists with scheduling and front office functions to ensure smooth workflow and accurate patient data.
• Maintains daily quality control to monitor scanner performance and safety standards.

Job Description:

Pay Range: $50 - $70 per hour, **This position has a sign on bonus of $10,000**

Nuclear Medicine Technologist

SCOPE:

Under general supervision, performs diagnostic PET/CT imaging, therapy procedures, and related functions. Collaborates with Radiation Service Director and Supervisor on technical issues, equipment performance and QA. Supports and adheres to the New York Oncology Hematology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs diagnostic PET/CT imaging or Therapy procedures to include: injection of radio- pharmaceutical , the administration of oral contrast, protocol setup, patient positioning, reconstruction and filming of images, network image transfers, and archiving of image data. Assists in procedure scheduling and related front office functions to ensure smooth workflow. Ensures accuracy of patient demographic information, report distribution and patient files. Assists with the collection of clinical data for patient follow-up and development of teaching and educational information. Provides protection for patient and self in accordance with prescribed safety standards. Conducts daily quality control measures to monitor scanner performance. Reports all malfunctions and/or need for service to the proper company or facility. Responsible for patient data and films including: printing, archiving, retrieval, network data transfers, tracking and logging of loaned films and requested outside films. Ordering of necessary office, medical, printing and archiving media. Assists with the collection of clinical data for patient follow-up and development of research, teaching and educational information.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associates or Bachelors degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or from an AMA accredited program or Associates or Bachelors degree in Radiologic Technology from an AMA accredited program and PET/CT certification.
• Minimum three to five years experience in nuclear medicine and/or previous PET experience preferred.
• General knowledge of patient scheduling and billing systems.
• CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist) and/or ARRT (N) certification and state licensure where applicable.
• Certification either in ARRT ( R) or (CT) or NMTCB (CT) is also preferred.
