Salary: $29+ Depending on experience

Job Title: Nuclear Tech

Schedule:
Full-Time, Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm. No weekends or major holidays.

Overtime is not common in this position.

Education Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist) required.

Job Summary: We are a large, privately owned, primary care office located on the campus of St. Vincent's in Birmingham. Our Nuclear Techs work together to maintain an efficient department and perform cardiolite stress testing as ordered by the physicians.

Job Duties Include:

  • Preparing and administering radio-pharmaceuticals/radiation to patients using radioisotope equipment under the direction of the physician.
  • Explaining nuclear testing procedures and safety precautions to patients. Assisting patients during their procedure.
  • Calculating, measuring, and recording the radiation dosage. Documenting the radio-pharmaceuticals received, used, and disposed following the physician's order.
  • Producing both computer generated and film images for physician interpretation.
  • Collecting and analyzing testing data to prepare a printed report for the physician.
  • Reviewing and evaluating images to determine if they are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.
