Job summary

Socket.dev is hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures using radiopharmaceuticals. The role requires ARRT(N) or CNMT certification, MD licensure, and BLS certification, with at least two years of experience.

The candidate will ensure safety, document patient care in electronic health records, and contribute to quality and performance initiatives within the department.

Qualifications

• Graduation with a certificate or advanced degree in radiation therapy or nuclear medicine from a program accredited by an agency recognized by the USDE or CHEA.
• 2+ years of relevant clinical experience.
• Registered ARRT (N) and/or CNMT.
• Licensed Nuclear Medicine Technologist - State of MD.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification.

Job Requirements

Under general supervision, performs diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures with radioisotopes and radiation detection methods.

Primary Responsibilities

• Executes basic clinical competence in nuclear medicine technology, in all locations across all patient types.Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals and adjunctive medications to perform patient imaging procedures using nuclear medicine instrumentation. Processes data and enhances digital images using advanced computer technology. Provides images, data analysis, and patient information to the physician for diagnostic interpretation. Selects accurate technical factors and appropriateness on an individual patient basis and demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient.
• Applies knowledge of nuclear medicine principles and practices, including anatomy and physiology, radiation protection and physics, quality assurance, positioning, and patient care skills.Ensures safety and security in the storage and delivery of radiopharmaceuticals. Adheres to Joint Commission, State, Federal, and departmental regulatory compliance standards.
• Documents accurate patient care activity in various electronic health records systems.
• Ensures a safe and appropriate work environment.Maintains supplies and inventory in the area.Informs appropriate colleague when supplies need to be ordered from outside vendors.Documents and reports related to equipment/environmental problems in accordance with policy.
• Actively participates in departmental and organizational performance improvement initiatives and efforts to improve workflows, patient experience, and quality.Actively participates in student and employee training and educational activities.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Work Experience

Education & Experience - Required

• Graduation with a certificate or advanced degree in radiation therapy or nuclear medicine from a program accredited by an agency recognized by the US Department of Education (USDE) or Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
• 2+ years
• Registered with American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) (N) and/or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (CNMT)
• Licensed Nuclear Medicine Technologist - State of MD
• Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification
