Job description

Overview

Department: Nuclear Medicine

Location: Fresno, CA, United States, 93721

Shift timings: 08:00-16:30 Monday to Friday (8 Hours/5 Days)

Per Week: 40 Hours

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and operate cameras that detect and map radioactive drugs in a patient\'s body to create diagnostic images.
  • Position patients and select anatomic and technical factors accurately.
  • Order, prepare, administer, and dispose of radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols.
  • Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).
  • Ensure equipment is properly functioning.
  • Report potential problems or equipment malfunction to appropriate personnel.
  • Lock/tag out equipment if appropriate.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, and orderly department.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Graduate from an approved Nuclear Medicine Technology program or Associate\'s Degree in related field required; Bachelor\'s Degree in related field preferred.
  • Must have one of the following primary certifications:
    • NMTCB(CNMT) - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist
    • ARRT(N) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Nuclear Medicine Technology
  • Additional post-primary advanced certification preferred:
    • ARRT(CT) - Computed Tomography
    • NMTCB(PET) - Positron Emission Tomography
    • NMTCB(NCT) - Nuclear Cardiology Technologist
  • 2 years of post-program graduate experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist required
  • BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required
  • CTNM - State of California Certified Tech Nuclear Medicine all scopes including venipuncture required
