Job summary

AdventHealth Littleton is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a PRN schedule in Colorado. You will perform patient examinations, ensure quality control, and collaborate with radiologists to ensure accurate imaging and patient care.

Maintain readiness of the Nuclear Medicine suite and document procedures accurately. The role requires BLS/CPR, CNMT and RT credentials, plus active licensure as applicable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Nuclear Medicine or related field.
• Certification as Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) or equivalent.
• Active radiology licensure and permits where required.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.
• Accredited radiology/medical imaging credentials as listed.

Responsibilities

• Perform Nuclear Medicine procedures with camera acquisition and data processing.
• Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare staff to ensure patient care continuity.
• Maintain room cleanliness, stocking, and equipment readiness for next patient.
• Document quality control data and exam charges in the information systems.
• Verify patient/exam accuracy and correct accession numbers as needed.

Job Description:

Ensures equipment meets all quality control requirements and performs patient examinations utilizing age-specific care techniques in a safe and responsible manner, evaluating image quality for good technical and diagnostic detail.Collaborates with radiologists and other healthcare providers to ensure appropriate imaging and continuity of patient care. Performs a wide range of Nuclear Medicine procedures demonstrating proficiency with camera acquisition and computer processing, adapting to new technology, and helping develop the knowledge and competency of coworkers and students. Other duties as assigned. Maintains room readiness by keeping the room neat, supplies well stocked, and equipment prepared for the next patient, initiating and documenting work order requests for any malfunctioning equipment. Plans and manages time to accurately perform and enter all required quality control, patient radionuclide administration data, and exam charges into the Nuclear Medicine Information System and Order Communication System in a timely manner. Confirms proper examination/patient assignment on images before releasing images for interpretation, follow up to correct any erroneous accession numbers in the applicable system, and notify appropriate personnel when transmitting "after hours" exams. Identifies patients using approved guidelines to confirm patient/exam accuracy before continuing with patient examination. Reviews and ensures physician requests meet clinically valid exam indicator requirements.Prepares appropriate radionuclide for procedures, explains procedures to patients, and aseptically administers radionuclides using universal BSI principles.
