Qualifications

  • Performs Nuclear Medicine procedures with camera acquisition.
  • Collaborates with radiologists to ensure imaging quality and patient care.
  • Maintains room readiness and reports equipment issues.
  • Ensures adherence to radiation safety and ALARA principles.
  • Supports training of coworkers and students.

Job Description:
  • Ensures equipment meets all quality control requirements and performs patient examinations utilizing age-specific care techniques in a safe and responsible manner, evaluating image quality for good technical and diagnostic detail.
  • Collaborates with radiologists and other healthcare providers to ensure appropriate imaging and continuity of patient care.
  • Performs a wide range of Nuclear Medicine procedures demonstrating proficiency with camera acquisition and computer processing, adapting to new technology, and helping develop the knowledge and competency of coworkers and students.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains room readiness by keeping the room neat, supplies well stocked, and equipment prepared for the next patient, initiating and documenting work order requests for any malfunctioning equipment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of human physiology
  • Knowledge of Scintigraphy equipment, Acquisition computers, and processing stations
  • Knowledge of Hot Lab equipment
  • Ability to learn and master new tasks related to Image Quality and Radiation Safety
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work with people of diverse backgrounds
  • A high level of multitasking, organization, and proactive customer service skills
  • Must possess sound judgment, critical thinking skills, ability to manage multiple details, tasks, and decision‑making abilities under busy and stressful working conditions
  • Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to perform Nuclear Medicine procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail
  • Knowledge of communication styles and constant deployment of proper engagement behaviors when encountering patients, staff, and physicians
  • Patient care and communication skills to deal with patients from infant, childhood, adolescent, adult and geriatric age groups
  • Basic clerical skills as needed for filing, record keeping, and documentation
  • Independent judgment and initiative
  • Ability to assist in a wide range of duties to ensure the smooth operation of the department
  • Age‑specific care
  • Ability to learn and use Radiology software packages such as Cerner, Radworks, and Pacs
  • Ability to quickly learn and follow departmental policies and procedures
  • Ability to follow Basic Radiation Safety concepts of time, distance, and shielding to keep exposure levels ALARA for patients and staff
  • Appropriate technical skills in Nuclear Medicine

Pay Range: $30.74 - $57.18
