Job summary

Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, part of the Optum family, is hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist in Sugar Land, TX. You will perform routine imaging, administer radioactive materials, and ensure QA and safety across procedures with a team of physicians and technologists.

The role requires a Nuclear Medicine program graduate, TX MBB/NR NM tech credentialing or eligibility, BLS, and SPECT experience, with 6+ months clinical work. Competitive hourly pay and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an approved Nuclear Medicine program.
  • Texas Medical Board Medical Technologist-General Certificate; NMTCB or ARRT (NM), or registry eligible.
  • BLS through American Heart Association.
  • Nuclear Cardiology SPECT.
  • 6+ months in a clinical area; new graduates considered with supervision.

Responsibilities

  • 30% Routine Nuclear Imaging: Perform technical and supportive patient care for exams, including Nuclear Cardiology, dynamic flow studies, and SPECT per nuclear physician policies.
  • 20% Administration of Radioactive Materials: Administer radioactive materials to patients for diagnostic/therapeutic uses; obtain consent and explain procedures; perform venipuncture.
  • 15% Quality Control: Conduct QA on scintillation cameras, probes, well counters, and survey meters; maintain aseptic technique and infection control.
  • 10% Management of Information: Document and communicate with care providers; manage confidentiality; schedule and charge exams in radiology information system.
  • 10% Environment of Care: Maintain equipment and supplies; order items; ensure safety standards; support OSHA/adherence and radiation safety.
  • 5% Patient Rights and Responsibilities: Uphold patient rights; obtain informed consent; handle complaints.
  • 5% Human Resources: Support licensure/certifications, annual competency, teamwork and communication.
  • 5% Performance Improvement: participate in organizational improvement and PDCA.
