Valley Health System in Ridgewood, NJ is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technician to perform a variety of nuclear medicine exams for diagnostic purposes. You will work with advanced imaging equipment, ensuring patient safety, and collaborating with physicians and care teams across Valley Health System.

The role requires completion of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Program with NJ DEP licensure, ARRT or NMTCB certification, and CPR certification.

Position Summary

To perform a variety of nuclear medicine exams for the diagnosis of pathological conditions.

Education

Completion of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Program and valid license from the State of New Jersey DEP. Certification in The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB). Current CPR cert

Experience

No prior experience required.

Skills

Physical and cognitive requirements: Position`s physical requirements necessitate a full range of body motion including but not limited to, physically assisting patients, requiring stretching, bending, lifting, sitting, kneeling, stooping, standing, walking, pushing and pulling. Position is classified according to the USDOL as Very Heavy Work which is defined as exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The National Institute of Safety and Health (NIOSH0 guidelines, which recommends that the average worker not lift more than 51 pounds without assistance, will be followed. Physical dexterity to operate sensitive equipment and to be able to perform a variety of Nuclear Medicine exams on patients. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology and vascular systems. Effective interaction and communication (oral, writing, presenting) skills. Ability to perform accurately and attention to details, changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure. Ability to function competently in stressful situations and changing work environment related to changing patient needs. Ability to work cooperatively within the health system, and with patients, family members, co-workers, and multidisciplinary team members (i.e., physicians, Patient Care Services staff members, etc.). Ability to utilize effective time management to set priorities, perform job related responsibilities, and respond quickly to emergency situations. Ability to use analytic and critical thinking skills to effectively problem-solve. Position may require rotating to other VMG locations from time to time when necessary.
