Job summary

Lovelace Medical Center in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a PRN Nuclear Medicine Technologist to prepare, measure, and administer radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. You will adhere to safety policies and support patient care in a fast-paced team environment.

The role requires completion of an accredited nuclear medicine program, internship, and state certification with BLS. You may provide clerical support and participate in quality control of imaging equipment as part

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an Accredited Nuclear Medicine Program.
  • One year clinical internship
  • ARRT(N), NMTCB, or ASCP(N) certification
  • Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certificate issued by the State of NM
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Two years of related experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepares, measures, and administers radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures with adherence to safety policies.
  • Administers radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • May provide clerical support for the department, including scheduling, record keeping, and answering phones.
  • Performs quality control and maintains equipment; reports concerns to the manager.
  • Adheres to policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety.
  • Maintains credentials and/or licensures.
  • Participates in departmental meetings.
  • Takes ownership of assignments and other duties as assigned.
  • Communicates effectively with internal and external customers; understands instructions and shares knowledge.
  • Cooperates with supervisors, peers, and all departments to demonstrate our service commitment.

A Day in the Life of a Nuclear Medicine Technologist:

  • Prepares, measures, and administers radiopharmaceuticals for use in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Adheres to policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety.
  • Prepares, measures, and administers radiopharmaceuticals for use in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • May provide clerical support for the assigned department, including but not limited to scheduling appointments, record keeping and answering phones.
  • Performs quality control and maintains equipment, and reports areas of concern to the appropriate manager.
  • Adheres to policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety.
  • Maintains credentials and/or licensures.
  • Participates and attends departmental meetings.
  • Takes ownership of assignments; other duties as assigned or requested.
  • Communicates and listens effectively with internal and external customers; effectively understands instructions and shares knowledge.
