Qualifications

• Lovelace Medical Center is an acute care hospital with 263 licensed beds, providing comprehensive care, including around-the-clock emergency care, surgical services, non-invasive robotic spine surgery, stroke care, radiology and oncology services.

A Day in the Life of a Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Responsibilities

• Prepare, measure, and administer radiopharmaceuticals for use in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
• Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety.
• Provide clerical support for the department, including scheduling appointments, record keeping, and answering phones.
• Perform quality control and maintain equipment, reporting areas of concern to the appropriate manager.
• Maintain credentials and/or licensures.
• Participate in departmental meetings.
• Takes ownership of assignments; other duties as assigned or requested.
• Communicate and listen effectively with internal and external customers, understanding instructions, and sharing knowledge.
• Cooperate with supervisors, peers, other departments, and all customer groups, demonstrating commitment to service.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited Nuclear Medicine Program.
• One (1) year clinical internship.
• ARRT (N), NMTCB, or ASCP (N) credential.
• Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certificate issued by the State of NM.
• BLS certification obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Bachelor’s Degree (preferred).
• Two (2) years of related experience (preferred).
