Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year of experience in a healthcare setting required.
• Current enrollment in an accredited radiologic technology or nuclear medicine may be considered in lieu of experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required – will obtain during hospital orientation. Maintains compliance in RQI required.

Responsibilities

• Performs clerical and scheduling tasks for the Nuclear Medicine department, including history worksheets, patient reminders, phone coverage, and provider orders in Meditech.
• Coordinates patient flow and information between technologists and nurses to maintain department communication.
• Assists with patient care and non-patient care activities (unit cleanliness, supplies, linens, imaging table prep) as directed by staff.
• Safely transfers patients using proper body mechanics and lifting devices as needed.
• Assists with patient/family teaching as appropriate.
• Maintains supplies and equipment.
• Enters daily patient charges and verifies charge reconciliation.
• Follows safety, infection control, and ALARA protocols to minimize radiation exposure.
