Job summary
US Heart and Vascular seeks a Nuclear Medicine Assistant to join Cardiology Specialist of Acadiana in Lafayette, LA. The role focuses on direct patient care, preparing and assisting with nuclear medicine and PET procedures, and maintaining EMR accuracy.
Requirements include LA nursing licensure or CMA, BLS/ACLS, and at least 1 year of experience. Monday–Friday schedule with comprehensive benefits is offered.
Qualifications
- Active LA nursing licensure or Certified Medical Assistant.
- BLS & ACLS certification required.
- Minimum of 1 year experience.
- Experience performing intravenous injections.
- Training in nuclear medicine procedures preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Provides direct patient care with dignity and privacy.
- Prepares consent forms and assists with nuclear medicine and PET schedules.
- Educates patients on procedures and obtains informed consent.
- Carries out physician orders and assists with nuclear medicine exams including IV injections.
- Documents EMR timely for each exam.
- Assists with patient scheduling and ensures insurance authorization.
- Maintains safety guidelines and clean exam rooms/equipment.
- Fills in other duties as needed by physician or supervisor.
