Job summary

US Heart & Vascular is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Assistant to join Cardiology Specialist of Acadiana in Lafayette, LA. The role supports nuclear medicine and PET procedures, ensuring patient care and safety.

The successful candidate will have LA nursing licensure or CMA, BLS & ACLS, and at least 1 year of experience; training in nuclear medicine is a plus. A comprehensive benefits package and a weekday schedule are offered.

Qualifications

• Active LA nursing licensure or CMA certification is required.
• BLS & ACLS certification is required.
• Minimum 1 year of medical/clinical experience preferred.
• Training in nuclear medicine procedures is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Treats patients with dignity and preserves privacy; supports nuclear medicine and PET procedures.
• Prepares consent forms and explains procedures to patients; assists with scheduling.
• Documents EMR entries promptly after each examination.
• Assists with insurance authorization prior to exams and coordinates scheduling.
• Maintains clean exam rooms and stocks clinical supplies; follows safety guidelines.
• Performs nursing duties when patient exams are unavailable.

US Heart and Vascular is in need of a Nuclear Medicine Assistant to join our team at Cardiology Specialist of Acadiana in LaFayette, LAResponsibilities:Treats all patients with dignity, respect and preserves patient privacy; provides direct patient care.Prepares consent forms and assists with patients on both nuclear medicine and PET daily schedules.Provides patient education on procedure to be performed; obtains informed consent.Carries out physician’s orders; assists with various aspects of the nuclear medicine examination, including IV injection and stress treadmill operation.Documents EMR timely of each examination.Assists with patient scheduling; ensures proper insurance authorization obtained prior to performance of exam.Adheres to OSHA PPE & company safety guidelines in providing patient care; maintains clean exam rooms and equipment.Performs nursing function and other duties outside of department in absence of patient exams.Maintains and re-stocks clinical supplies; notifies appropriate personnel of inventory for purchasing.Perform any other services deemed reasonable by physician or supervisor.Requirements:Active LA nursing licensure or Certified Medical AssistantBLS & ACLS certificationMinimum of 1 year experiencePrevious professional training to perform intravenous injections.Training in nuclear medicine procedures is preferred but not requiredWhy Choose Us?Comprehensive benefits packageMonday-Friday scheduleCME allowanceAbout Lafayette, LA:Lafayette is the heart of Cajun and Creole culture, offering incredible food, music, and festivals.
