General Summary of Position MedStar Health is looking foraNuclear Medicine Technologisttojoinourteam! Under the guidance of the Section Chief of Nuclear Medicine, the Nuclear Medicine Technologist will perform a full range of nuclear scans. Apply today and learn how MedStar Health can be your nextgreat careermove! Primary Duties: Prepare radioactive isotopes for administration to patients. Fill hypodermic syringe with specified amount of isotope and taggingcomponent. Observe strict precautions in handling isotopes to safeguard against overexposure to radiation. Follow recommended guidelines of nuclear regulatory commission (NRC). Operate gamma camera and related computers. Keep records of test conducted, test results, use, and disposition of isotopes. Must be available for on-call assignments, as needed. Attendsall required safety training programs and candescribehis/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job-related hazards. Follows the hospital exposure control plans/Blood borne and airborne pathogens. Promotesaneffective working relations and works effectively as part of a department inter and intra departmentally tofacilitatethe department's ability to meet its goals andobjectives Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. Musthave completed an approved Nuclear Medicine Program. NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board) or ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technology) certification. Current Maryland State License.
