Job summary

Spectra Tech in Richland, WA seeks an Engineering Materials Manager for the Nuclear Development project to coordinate and perform materials management activities. You will lead procurement planning, vendor selection, and cross-functional collaboration to align material, equipment, and documentation with project requirements.

This role reports to the Nuclear Development Engineering Manager and requires strong leadership across disciplines, with experience in QA programs.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in materials management or related field.
• Ability to lead across multiple disciplines and companies without authority.
• Strong coordination and documentation skills.
• Experience with procurement and vendor management processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead specification review meetings and coordinate resolution of technical requirements.
• Chair weekly DOR meetings across all three companies, including purchasing discussions.
• Coordinate with estimating and other stakeholders on DOR activities.
• Develop and maintain documentation to support planning, tracking, and communication.
• Lead material take-off meetings and reviews to confirm material requirements and procurement priorities.
• Review safety-related forms and documentation to ensure procurement supports safety requirements.
• Review procurement specifications for completeness, accuracy, and alignment with project requirements.
• Lead vendor selection and product decisions for major equipment and materials, such as turbines.
• Conduct vendor and product quality reviews and coordinate follow-up actions.
• Facilitate communication among engineering, estimating, purchasing, vendors, and project stakeholders.
• Coordinate multiple vendors.
