Job summary

KBH Industrial in Richland, WA seeks an Engineering Materials Manager to coordinate materials management for the Nuclear Development project and ensure alignment of materials, equipment, and vendor activities with project requirements.

The role reports to the Nuclear Development Engineering Manager and involves leading multi-disciplinary teams across three companies, driving safety-compliant procurement, and coordinating vendor selections for major equipment such as turbines.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience required.
• Experience with a quality assurance program such as NQA-1, ISO 9001, and/or ASME.
• Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university required.

Responsibilities

• Lead specification review meetings and coordinate the resolution of technical requirements.
• Chair weekly DOR meetings across all three companies, including discussions regarding purchasing responsibilities and ownership.
• Coordinate with estimating and other stakeholders on related DOR activities.
• Develop and maintain documentation to support planning, tracking, and communication.
• Lead material take-off meetings and reviews to confirm material requirements and procurement priorities.
• Review forms and documentation for safety-related work to ensure procurement supports safety requirements.
• Review procurement specifications for completeness, accuracy, and alignment with project requirements.
• Lead vendor selection and product decisions for major equipment and materials, such as turbines.
• Conduct vendor and product quality reviews and coordinate follow-up actions.
• Facilitate communication among engineering, estimating, purchasing, vendors, and project stakeholders to support timely procurement decisions.
• Coordinate multiple vendors.
