Antares is seeking a Materials Engineer to develop and qualify all materials in the reactor systems. You will design experiments, processes, and quality control while collaborating with vendors to identify gaps in material behavior under operating conditions.

You will become the go‑to SME for materials, applying fundamental science to manufacturing in a fast-paced environment and driving innovation for the next generation of materials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in materials engineering.
• Experience with Metals.
• Proficiency in optical and electron microscopy as well as mechanical property evaluation.
• Go-getter attitude – you’ll find a way to get it done.

Responsibilities

• Partake in development and qualification for all reactor materials, including lifetime testing and cross-institutional collaboration.
• Design and conduct physical, thermal, and mechanical testing of materials that replicates the reactor environment.
• Employ statistical methods to evaluate effects of process variables and environmental effects on materials properties.
• Materials characterization including root cause investigations of failure modes.
• Interface with multiple engineering teams to integrate materials into the system and optimize processes.
