Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in materials engineering.
• Experience with metals.
• Proficiency in optical and electron microscopy as well as mechanical property evaluation.
• Go-getter attitude – you’ll find a way to get it done.

Responsibilities

• Develop and qualify materials for the reactor, including lifetime testing and property evaluation.
• Design and conduct physical, thermal, and mechanical testing of materials.
• Use statistical methods to assess how variables affect material properties.
• Conduct materials characterization and root-cause investigations of failures.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, neutronics, mechanical, testing, and quality teams to integrate materials.
