Job summary

AEP Service Corporation in the United States seeks an experienced Licensing Engineer to perform advanced nuclear licensing and regulatory engineering for NRC submissions. You will integrate licensing requirements with engineering, safety analysis, and project activities, leading licensing strategies and stakeholder engagement.

The role requires 4+ years of related engineering experience with an ABET-accredited engineering degree; PE is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Typically four (4) or more years of related engineering experience with a Bachelor's degree in engineering (ABET-accredited).
• Two (2) years of related engineering experience with a Master's degree or PhD in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in any U.S. state or Puerto Rico is encouraged and preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops and applies advanced NRC licensing knowledge for advanced nuclear development.
• Supports NRC license applications and regulatory submittals under 10 CFR Parts 50, 52, and 53.
• Interprets regulatory requirements with engineering teams to establish licensing needs and strategies.
• Provides licensing guidance and leads licensing activities.
• Plans and coordinates licensing activities to support project milestones.
• Identifies regulatory dependencies and licensing schedules.
• Prepares and presents regulatory information for NRC submittals and meetings.
• Builds relationships across teams and regulators to produce licensing deliverables.
• Applies engineering judgment to evaluate licensing issues and risks.
• Understands licensing strategy in relation to design, schedule, and cost.
