Job summary

The Nuclear Company in Columbia, SC is seeking a licensing engineer for its Regulatory team. You will support licensing strategies, document submittals, and compliance with NRC regulations, reports, and environmental requirements, reporting to the Director of Licensing.

Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 5+ years in nuclear energy, with strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline.
  • 5+ years in nuclear energy industry.
  • Experience with nuclear regulations, licensing processes, and NRC/NUREG guidance.
  • Familiarity with reactor systems, safety analysis, or environmental regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Independent and collaborative work style.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and revise licensing documents and submittals.
  • Ensure accuracy and technical adequacy of licensing documents.
  • Interpret and analyze federal, state, and local nuclear regulations.
  • Support regulatory inquiries and NRC interactions.
  • Assist with internal audits and track regulatory commitments.
  • Develop training materials related to licensing requirements and promote regulatory awareness.
