Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory is seeking qualified Nuclear and Hazardous Materials Technicians (Levels 3 or 4) to support the WCRRF team. Responsibilities include waste container handling, glovebox downsizing, and use of forklifts and hand tools in a safety-focused environment.

At Level 4, you will serve as a technical resource for complex waste characterization and repackaging activities, guiding less experienced staff while maintaining strict safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Hazardous waste handling/transportation experience.
• Familiarity with Type A/B waste containers and safety concepts.
• Ability to read waste inspection data.
• Experience following procedures and shift orders.
• Experience preparing waste handling reports.
• Experience in radiological areas or ability to qualify as Radiological Worker.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to obtain DOE security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support WCRRF glovebox downsizing and waste packaging tasks.
• Operate forklifts and material handling equipment safely.
• Perform manual glovebox downsizing and component packaging.
• Follow approved procedures and conduct of operations.
