Job summary

Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) seeks a Level 2 Nuclear & Hazardous Materials Technician to support TA-55 LLW operations. The role requires handling fissile materials, moving and storing hazardous containers, and working with diverse teams to meet safety and quality standards.

Candidates will perform inspections, operate forklifts, and assist in waste characterization under supervision. A high school diploma and 3 years of related experience are required; DOE safety training and security

Qualifications

• High School diploma and minimum 3 years related experience or equivalent.
• Ability to operate forklifts and other loading equipment.
• Knowledge of handling hazardous wastes and materials; familiarity with safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assists in inspection and characterization of waste containers to ensure proper handling and storage.
• Moves, loads, transports, and stores drums and containers of hazardous waste.
• Performs technical tasks under supervision and records procedures and data.
• Keeps accurate records of storage, inventory, and waste profiles.
• Operates forklifts and other machinery as needed.
