Job summary

BWX Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer – Fuel Loading in Lynchburg, VA to coordinate with customers and suppliers, create SolidWorks designs, and support assembly and testing of electromechanical systems.

You will help develop advanced manufacturing technologies, prepare key documentation, and provide broad engineering support across prototype and production activities. This on-site role requires strong teamwork and a willingness to meet DOE/DOD requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
• 4+ years in Tool Design, Prototype Design, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• Fluent in 3D modeling using SolidWorks.
• Ability to produce engineering/manufacturing drawings with GD&T.
• Knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling and materials.
• Familiar with basic electrical components interfacing with mechanical systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create design models and detailed drawings using SolidWorks CAD software and other design methods.
• Provide engineering support involving assembly, testing, inspection, and qualification of mechanical components and systems.
• Lead and assist in the development and qualification of advanced manufacturing technologies.
• Support assembling prototype and production equipment.
• Write manufacturing/assembly plans, procedures, and instructions as well as assist with testing/qualification reports.
• Support engineering procurement efforts and control of tooling.
• Support Operations (hand tools, power tools, machining equipment, and automated equipment).
• Inspect and characterize components.
• Lead and coordinate activities with customers, internal and external suppliers, and other stakeholders.
• Provide other engineering and manufacturing support tasks as required.
