Job summary

Standard Nuclear, Inc. is seeking a Nuclear Fuel Development Engineer to support fuel development and manufacturing programs, providing engineering and design support for fuel and related equipment.

This hands-on role requires strong technical fundamentals and disciplined documentation. This role involves collaboration with fuel development, manufacturing, quality, EH&S, radiological controls, and external vendors in a regulated nuclear fuel fabrication environment, with on-site responsibilities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field (Mechanical/Nuclear/Materials/Chemical).
  • 3–6 years in fuel development, advanced manufacturing, or related technical work.
  • Hands-on experience in lab, pilot, manufacturing, or regulated environments.
  • Experience with equipment design, tooling, or process troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with advanced materials, ceramics, powders, or precision manufacturing.
  • Ability to analyze technical data and draw clear conclusions.

Responsibilities

  • Support engineering activities for advanced nuclear fuel development and related manufacturing projects.
  • Develop and refine equipment concepts, tooling, fixtures, and fabrication methods.
  • Assist with process trials, demonstrations, test campaigns, and readiness activities.
  • Evaluate equipment performance and process results to improve yield and reliability.
  • Identify risks and opportunities to improve manufacturability.
