Job summary

Holtec is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to lead complex nuclear fire protection projects at operating plants, advanced reactors, and related facilities. You will manage FHAs, regulatory licensing, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities include developing justifications, interfacing with NRC, and mentoring engineers, while supporting business development and client relationships. On-site in Covert, MI with relocation assistance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• Experience performing Fire Hazards Analyses and compliance evaluations for nuclear facilities.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA 805, 10 CFR 50 Appendix R, 10 CFR 50.48 and NRC guidelines.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage complex nuclear fire protection projects from proposal through closeout.
• Perform and oversee Fire Hazards Analyses (FHAs) for nuclear facilities and reactors.
• Evaluate NRC regulations and licensing requirements.
• Conduct engineering analyses: fire area assessments, safe shutdown, circuit analysis, fire barrier evaluations.
• Develop technical justifications, licensing basis modifications, and exemption requests.
• Interface with utility clients, NRC personnel, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and support business development activities.
• Participate in plant walkdowns, inspections, and outage support.
