Job summary

Navarro Research and Engineering is recruiting an HVAC Engineer to support ventilation, heating, cooling, and air handling for a new nuclear fuel facility. The role requires coordinating ventilation with process equipment, hot cells, and safety requirements.

The candidate should have 5+ years of HVAC engineering experience on nuclear/regulated projects, able to interpret drawings, sizing calculations, and interface with multiple engineering disciplines. U.S. citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or closely related discipline.
• 5+ years HVAC engineering experience on nuclear, DOE, chemical, or regulated facility projects.
• Experience with nuclear or high-consequence ventilation systems and related equipment sizing.
• Ability to interpret HVAC drawings, P&IDs, and safety requirements.
• US citizenship required due to government contract.

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and maintain HVAC calculations, airflow diagrams, duct layouts, and equipment specs.
• Coordinate HVAC interfaces with process, piping, mechanical, I&C, electrical, and safety teams.
• Review vendor submittals for fans, heat exchangers, and filtration components.
• Support design reviews, hazard reviews, and commissioning planning.
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical evaluations, and field change documents.
• Maintain configuration control and clear communication with project leadership.
