Job summary

Subcritical Systems, Inc. in Austin, Texas is seeking a Nuclear Export Compliance Engineer to own the day-to-day administration of our 810 compliance program as we develop the Energy Amplifier and scale accelerator technology.

The role focuses on translating DOE requirements into practical controls for foreign-national access and technology transfers, working with engineering, IT, HR, and legal counsel to ensure timely reviews and auditable records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Nuclear/Mechanical/Chemical/Materials Eng.
• 5+ years in nuclear regulatory compliance.
• Hands-on Part 810 experience.
• Document sound regulatory judgments.
• Strong technical writing and communication.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the Part 810 compliance program and records.
• Evaluate activities for Part 810 scope and approvals.
• Coordinate DOE authorization applications and reports.
• Maintain Technology Control Plans with cross‑functional teams.
• Review technical exchanges and ensure confidentiality controls.
• Develop Part 810 training for staff.
• Investigate potential noncompliance with counsel.
• Provide limited Part 70 support for NRC licensing inputs.
