Job summary

Dominion Energy in Glen Allen, VA is seeking a motivated student for a summer 2027 internship in the Corporate Nuclear Engineering and Fuel Department’s Electrical/I&C Analysis Group. You will support electrical load tracking, AC/DC analysis, and cable management under mentorship.

The role emphasizes basic electrical theory, teamwork, and strong communication. Candidates must be ABET‑accredited program in Electrical or I&C Engineering, graduating Fall 2028 or later, with a 3.0 GPA or higher.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic electrical theories and principles is required.
• Experience with Microsoft Office products is desired. Proficiency in MS Excel with Macros is preferred.
• Must be able to follow instructions and be a team player.
• Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Solid engineering skills, commensurate with grade level.
• Good communication skills, technical writing skills, and computer skills.
• An inquisitive nature, an ability to follow written and verbal directions, and strong professional ethics

Responsibilities

• Plant electrical load tracking, AC/DC analysis using ETAP software.
• Cable specification & management, electrical protection & coordination.
• Technical evaluation development, and general electrical theory/principles utilized in design basis analysis.
• The project and tasks will be mentored by an experienced engineer.
