Job Description:

NUCLEAR ENGINEER

Parsons is seeking a talented nuclear engineer to join our team! In this role, you will perform a variety of engineering assignments by applying standard process and nuclear engineering techniques as a member of the Parsons Federal Engineering Team.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Utilize process and nuclear engineering theories, practices, and company procedures.
  • Use CAE (computer aided engineering) and CAD (computer aided design) applications.
  • Create drawings, datasheets, and specifications for procurement and construction, utilizing CAE/CAD.
  • Assist in preparing process and nuclear safety calculations, PFDs, P&IDs, material take-offs, estimates, and designs.
  • Prepare requisitions for materials or equipment and review supplier drawings and bid analyses.
  • Support development of documents related to:
    • Operational and Technical Safety Requirements (OSR, TSR)
    • Spent fuel receipt, handling, and transfer systems (including automation and robotics)
    • Radioactive and Hazardous Waste Management
    • Fissile Material Accountability
  • Provide input to CAD Designers/Drafters working on the same project.
  • Participate in project controls activities such as scheduling, variance reporting, and cost analysis.
Skills and Competencies:
  • Basic knowledge of nuclear engineering.
  • Familiarity with DOE standards and orders related to nuclear facilities.
  • Proficiency with CAD and engineering software.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
Education and Experience:
  • Required: BS in Nuclear Engineering.
  • Preferred: Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
  • 3+ years of related experience in nuclear industries.
Security Clearance:
  • Ability to obtain a DOE security clearance.

This position is part of our Federal Solutions team, serving US government clients in defense, security, intelligence, infrastructure, and environmental sectors.

Salary Range: $62,300 - $109,000

This position will be posted for a minimum of 3 days and up to 30 days until filled or canceled.
