Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering, Applied Physics, or related field is required.
  • 2-3 years' experience in nuclear engineering or related environments preferred.
  • Knowledge of reactor physics, thermodynamics and radiation protection is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct analyses, simulations, and performance evaluations of nuclear systems.
  • Ensure compliance with nuclear safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Review technical documentation and prepare engineering reports.
  • Develop procedures for handling radioactive materials and waste.
  • Collaborate with Product Line Leader, Quality, Manufacturing and teams to meet requirements.
  • Support customer discussions and contribute to innovative product development.

Reuter-Stokes researchers and engineers have collaborated with customers to design, produce, and install reliable equipment for harsh environments. Our solutions include precise radiation measurement, nuclear reactor monitoring, UV flame detection, and downhole sensing for directional drilling. Today, more than 100,000 Reuter-Stokes detectors are deployed around the world. The Nuclear Engineer is responsible for designing, analyzing, testing, and overseeing systems and processes. This role ensures the safe, efficient and compliant while supporting innovation in energy production and radiation applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct engineering analyses, simulations, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with nuclear safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Review technical documentation and prepare engineering reports.
  • Develop procedures for handling radioactive materials and waste.
  • Working directly with the respective Product Line Leader, Quality, Manufacturing, and other Functional Teams to ensure products meet internal and external requirements, start to finish, and provide for continued growth of the product line.
  • Fostering a creative environment; allowing for new ideas while embracing speed and excellence.
  • Supporting technical discussions with customers as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2-3 years' experience desired.
  • Knowledge of reactor physics, thermodynamics, and radiation protection.
  • Familiarity with nuclear regulations, safety standards, and quality requirements.
  • Experience with an ERP system such as SAP is a plus.
  • Experience in nuclear power plants, research facilities, or regulatory environments.

EDUCATION
