Job summary

Crane Company in Ohio is seeking a Nuclear Engineer to design, analyze, test, and oversee nuclear-related systems and processes to support safe energy production.

You will work with product line leaders and engineering teams to ensure compliance, perform simulations, review documentation, and develop procedures for handling radioactive materials, with 2–3 years of experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering, Applied Physics, or similar field.
  • 2-3 years' experience in nuclear engineering or a related environment.
  • Knowledge of reactor physics, thermodynamics, and radiation protection.
  • Familiarity with nuclear regulations and safety standards.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct engineering analyses, simulations, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with nuclear safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Review technical documentation and prepare engineering reports.
  • Develop procedures for handling radioactive materials and waste.
  • Working directly with the Product Line Leader, Quality, Manufacturing, and other Functional Teams to ensure products meet requirements and support growth of the product line.
  • Fostering a creative environment; allowing for new ideas while embracing speed and excellence.
  • Supporting technical discussions with customers as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Our solutions include precise radiation measurement, nuclear reactor monitoring, UV flame detection, and downhole sensing for directional drilling. Today, more than 100,000 Reuter-Stokes detectors are deployed around the world.

The Nuclear Engineer is responsible for designing, analyzing, testing, and overseeing systems and processes. This role ensures the safe, efficient and compliant while supporting innovation in energy production and radiation applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct engineering analyses, simulations, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with nuclear safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Review technical documentation and prepare engineering reports.
  • Develop procedures for handling radioactive materials and waste.
  • Working directly with the respective Product Line Leader, Quality, Manufacturing, and other Functional Teams to ensure products meet internal and external requirements, start to finish, and provide for continued growth of the product line.
  • Fostering a creative environment; allowing for new ideas while embracing speed and excellence.
  • Supporting technical discussions with customers as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2-3 years' experience desired.
  • Knowledge of reactor physics, thermodynamics, and radiation protection.
  • Familiarity with nuclear regulations, safety standards, and quality requirements.
  • Experience with an ERP system such as SAP is a plus.
  • Experience in nuclear power plants, research facilities, or regulatory environments.

EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering, Applied Physics, or similar field.
