Job summary

Vistra Energy is seeking a Component Engineer for Instrumentation and Controls (I/C) responsible for the reliability and lifecycle management of I&C components in nuclear power plants. This role includes oversight of electronic and software-based systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor's in Engineering and possess a minimum of 6 years experience in nuclear or industrial I/C systems. Role includes potential travel up to 25% and offers a collaborative work environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in nuclear or industrial I/C systems.
• Knowledge of nuclear regulatory requirements (10 CFR 50, 10 CFR 21, ASME NQA‑1, IEEE standards).
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary engineering authority for assigned I&C components.
• Lead or support engineering change packages including design reviews.
• Ensure I&C components meet regulatory requirements related to safety.

Skills

Strong understanding of analog and digital electronics

Familiarity with software configuration management

Knowledge of nuclear regulatory requirements

Proficiency with test equipment

Experience with DCS platforms

Understanding of SDLC in safety-critical environments

Experience with PLC programming

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, or related engineering
