Job summary

TerraPower seeks a Consequence Safety Methods & Analysis Engineer to advance the Natrium demonstration reactor, performing methodology development and safety analyses. You will contribute to licensing basis events, mechanistic source term, radiological consequences, and emergency planning zones.

The role includes developing models, conducting transient analyses, and interfacing with NRC on design/analysis approaches, within a multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced program.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in nuclear engineering or related field with extensive nuclear experience.
• Experience with NRC interactions and licensing analyses strongly preferred.
• Knowledgeable about safety analysis, source term, and radiological consequences.

Responsibilities

• Develop methodologies using a graded approach to EM DAP.
• Develop assessment bases and evaluate the model for safety analyses.
• Create analytical models in collaboration with safety engineers.
• Perform transient and accident analyses for the SFR program.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to set requirements and design.
• Maintain analysis of record and methodology documentation.
