Overview
This posting is for a Test Mechanic within Nuclear Test Operations (1st Shift).
This position involves mechanical testing of nuclear components following specific test procedures, performing mechanical alignment and checks for both primary and secondary side detectors, and acting as a Safety Technician to ensure systems are properly tagged out, isolated, and de-pressurized to facilitate safe work by other trades.
The candidate must be capable of understanding and interpreting mechanical system diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and Test Equipment Drawings to build and install test gear supporting system testing.
The individual must understand and adhere to the EB Safety Manual, technical manuals, and department instructions when working on ship equipment.
Some heavy lifting, crawling, and working in confined spaces are required.

The applicant must be medically qualified to work as a Contamination Worker, including obtaining and maintaining dosimetry. Additionally, the individual must pass all required trade training qualifications, including Grade A and Steam Plant Cleanliness.
