Job summary

State of Pennsylvania is seeking an NSX Administrator for a 3-month engagement in Harrisburg, PA, with hybrid work arrangement (1 day onsite per week). The role focuses on administering VMware NSX-T in an enterprise setting, including networking design, security, and automation tasks.

The position requires hands-on experience with vSphere/ESXi/vCenter and strong troubleshooting across layers, along with familiarity with cloud networking concepts and monitoring tools.

Qualifications

• Strong experience administering VMware NSX-T in enterprise environments.
• Solid understanding of VLANs, BGP, OSPF, VXLAN.
• Hands-on experience with vSphere, ESXi, vCenter.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex networking and virtualization issues across multiple layers.
• Familiarity with network security best practices and micro-segmentation design.
• Experience with automation/scripting using PowerShell/PowerCLI, Python, or REST APIs.
• VMware certifications such as VCP-NV, VCAP-NV, or equivalent hands-on expertise.
• Knowledge of cloud networking concepts (AWS, Azure).
• Experience with monitoring tools (vRealize Network Insight, Aria Operations, SolarWinds, Splunk).

Required/Preferred Skills:
