Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
• Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available.
• This position entails access to export-controlled items and requires ability to lawfully obtain access.
• Preferred: aerospace, mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial engineering disciplines.
• Experience working in a Casting environment.
• Internship or co-op in manufacturing or lab environment encouraged.
• Strong verbal, written, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Ability to work self-directed or in a team and good organizational skills.
• Knowledge of Six Sigma, statistical analysis, and scientific problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Plans and formulates NPI engineering programs within area of assigned responsibility.
• Implements and reviews process design for compliance with engineering principles and contract requirements.
• Supports technical development, cost reduction programs and resolves engineering design and test problems.
• Evaluates and approves design changes, specs and drawing releases.
• Prepares interim and completion project reports.
• Provides technical support for manufacturing area of assignment.
• Interfaces with production personnel regarding processing requirements; interacts with suppliers and customers on technical issues.
• Performs process quality investigations as required.
• Develops and implements process improvements and cost reductions.
• Manages tool and fixture design pertinent to processing.
• Generates material requisitions to initiate procurement.
• Translates customer requirements into usable work instructions and interfaces on technical issues.
• Reviews purchase orders, specs and blueprints for impact.
• Specifies processing and generates work instructions.
• Aims to eliminate waste and improve equipment reliability and efficiency; uses statistical methods as necessary.
• Continuously improves job-related responsibilities.
