Job summary

Philips Procurement Engineer in Cambridge, MA is responsible for driving New Product Development and industrializing the supplier base for AM&D’s sensor product, with a focus on cost, quality and risk improvements throughout the PDLM lifecycle.

You will lead sourcing strategy, manage supplier engagement and RFQ activities (Ariba), push DfX initiatives, influence design for standardization, and oversee phase‑in/phase‑out and ramp‑up to ensure timely launches and sustained savings.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of procurement and sourcing leadership for new product introductions in a regulated manufacturing environment.
• Experience with supplier selection, RFQ management, and cross‑functional collaboration with R&D, Quality, and Supply Chain.
• Knowledge of Lean/6Sigma and Design for Excellence (DfX) principles, and ISO 13485 is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations, R&D, Quality, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead new product sourcing strategy and execution to meet cost, quality, risk, and TCO targets.
• Manage supplier engagement and sourcing governance, including NP I BoM grids and Ariba e-RFQ activities.
• Drive DfX initiatives to improve cost, quality, and risk profiles and facilitate early supplier involvement.
• Influence product design and portfolio optimization to maximize supplier flexibility and scalability.
• Oversee product launch readiness and lifecycle management, including ramp‑up and post‑launch cost improvements.
