Responsibilities

• Oversee the development and release of technical product offerings and programs, with risk management and cross-team alignment.
• Lead cross-functional teams to define sourcing strategies and supplier plans for new products.
• Act as a single point of contact to confirm supplier readiness for production milestones.
• Manage transition of new products from pilot to volume production.
• Perform cost rollups and analyze product cost to drive corrective actions.
• Collaborate with supply chain and engineering on supplier selection and risk.
• Resolve discrepancies between cost targets and quotes; present to executives.
• Show should-cost understanding and suggest design improvements for cost/quality.
• Provide feedback to engineering on DFx.
• Navigate multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
• Run Continuous Improvement projects from inception to results.

The impact you’ll make

As a Technical Program Manager at Lam, you are not just overseeing projects—you’re orchestrating breakthroughs in support of developing and releasing new products. You lead cross-functional teams through successful project execution, blending your technical excellence with strategic planning to deliver new or upgraded products. Your role is vital, owning technical projects from initiation through delivery using your expertise in planning, directing, and monitoring schedules and budgets. In this role, you directly contribute to successful sourcing, supplier ramp readiness, and meeting cost objectives.

What you’ll do

• Over-see the optimization or creation of technical product offerings, processes, or programs, developing project plans, aligning teams, managing risk, and driving projects through release.
• Form and lead cross-functional teams (comprised of Supply Chain, Operations, and other members as required) to define sourcing strategies and sourcing plans for new products, including recommendations for new supplier selection and evaluation as part of the Pilot Organization.
• Serve as a single point of contact to the Supply Chain team to confirm supplier readiness in terms of production capacity and approved critical parts manufacturing prior to key product milestones.
• Manage the transition of new products from pilot production to volume production.
• Using software tools, perform regular cost rollups and analyze product cost performance to drive corrective action as required to achieve product cost targets, and manage the product cost roadmap prior to production release.
• Work collaboratively with supply chain and engineering stakeholders; develop supplier selection processes for piece parts or outsourced assemblies and identify supply chain risks supporting sourcing decisions.
• Responsible for resolving discrepancies between cost targets and quoted costs; create and deliver presentations to program executives and CFT stakeholders.
• Demonstrate a fundamental understanding of should-cost or cost allocation and recognizes opportunities to improve product design for cost, quality, and delivery through early supplier involvement.
• Provide feedback to engineering on DFx (cost, manufacturability).
• Successfully navigate multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
• Run Continuous Improvement projects, from inception to impactful results.

Who we’re looking for

• Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of experience; or Master’s degree with 6+ years’ experience; or a PhD with 3+ years’ experience; or equivalent experience.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience in or knowledge of semiconductor fabrication, semiconductor equipment operations, or related industries is a plus.
• Knowledge of program management methods and experience in Product Development & Release (PDR) procedures.
• Supply chain knowledge, especially for critical commodities as related to sourcing decisions and cost strategies.
• Technical background, preferably in the semiconductor industry, and Etch, Deposition, Clean equipment product knowledge is a plus.

CA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: Min $104,000 - Max $231,000.

The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
