Job summary

Figure seeks an experienced NPI Buyer/Planner to own material readiness from prototype through mass production. You will convert evolving BOMs into time-phased requirements and coordinate with Design Engineering, Manufacturing, and Global Supply Chain to ensure on-time builds.

You will manage the RFQ-to-PO cycle, identify long-lead parts, and drive risk mitigation across ECOs and deviations, ensuring a smooth handoff to production planning at ramp.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in SCM, engineering, or related field.
• 3–5 years buying/planning/materials mgmt, with 2 years NP I or prototype builds.
• Experience buying against immature BOMs and managing engineering changes in live builds.
• Background in complex electromechanical hardware (robotics, aerospace, medical devices).

Responsibilities

• Convert engineering build plans into time-phased material requirements for EVT/DVT and pilot builds.
• Plan against incomplete BOMs and close gaps with Engineering before shortages.
• Identify long-lead parts and drive risk-buy decisions with Global Supply Managers.
• Own the RFQ-to-PO cycle for prototype and pilot material and track ETAs.
• Transition part-level history and lead times to production planning at ramp.
