Job summary

Saildrone is seeking an NPI Manufacturing Engineer to bridge design engineering and full-scale manufacturing. This role is the operational backbone of the NPI team, turning concepts into scalable electromechanical products and leading pilot builds.

You will provide DFM feedback, translate EBOMs to MBOMs, and develop SOPs, test procedures, and build guides for new subassemblies, ensuring flawless handoffs to production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical discipline

Responsibilities

• Provide DFM feedback to design teams early in development
• Translate EBOMs into MBOMs in PLM/ERP systems
• Create SOPs, work instructions, build guides, and ATPs for new subassemblies
• Lead NPI pilot builds and coordinate across teams to resolve issues
• Design and validate custom assembly tooling, jigs, fixtures, and manufacturing aids
• Plan line layouts and ergonomic workstations for scalable production
• Own the production handoff gate ensuring BOMs, tooling and tests are ready for production
