Job summary

Flex is seeking an NPI Manager in Orangeburg, SC, reporting to the Director of Operations Engineering. You’ll lead new product introductions, prepare costs and budgets for NPI projects, and drive product launch plans from planning through production.

The role requires strong leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and experience in project management within manufacturing. MBA and PMP are preferred, with Six Sigma Black Belt advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in manufacturing, engineering, or business.
• MBA preferred.
• PMP Certification preferred.
• Black Belt / Six Sigma preferred.
• 7 years of engineering experience including broad-based management.
• Experience in project management.
• Advanced Microsoft Project management tools.
• Experience in cross functional role in all aspects of manufacturing.
• Advanced customer interfacing experience.
• Excellent leadership skills in direct customer meetings and individuals.
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the product launching and communicate with customers.
• Maintain updates on production of new products from planning to production.
• Evaluate product reviews from customers.
• Develop talent as part of executing operational plans.
• Provide strategic leadership for the function and site.
• Ensure product schedules are followed during development.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Logistics, Planning, and others.
• Coordinate with teams involved in product development.
• Negotiate with manufacturers and suppliers to meet expectations.
• Make project cost estimates including resources and capital.
• Conduct supplier meetings to improve new products.
• Propose solutions aligning customer needs with company productivity.

We’re looking to add a NPI Manager located in Orangeburg SC. Reporting to the Director, Operations Engineering, the New Product Introduction (NPI Manager) role involves product implementation and ensuring that it will satisfy Flex customers. Also prepares the cost estimates and the budget for the NPI projects.

Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do:

• Facilitate the product launching and make it known to the customers.
• Keep updates with production of new products from project planning to production.
• Evaluate product reviews given by customers.
• Recognizes and develops talent as a key element of executing operational business plans.
• Provides strategic leadership for the function and the site.
• Ensure that product schedules are followed during its development.
• Work closely with other departments such as Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Logistics, Planning and others.
• Work with other teams who are involved in product development.
• Negotiate with manufacturers and suppliers to meet company and customer expectations.
• Make project cost estimates including the resources, capital and other requirements to make the project successful.
• Conduct meetings with suppliers to improve the new products.
• Offer the best solution that will cater to the needs of the customer while making sure that the company will be productive and can save a lot in the process.
• Coordinate with customers regarding new product specifications and features.

Here is some of what you’ll need:

• Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, Engineering, Business
• MBA degree is (preferred)
• PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification preferred
• 7 years of engineering experience, including broad-based management and supervision.
• Black/ Six Green Sigma (preferred)
• Experience in Project management
• Advance experience Microsoft Project management tools
• Experience in cross functional role in all aspects of manufacturing
• Advanced customer interfacing experience
• Excellent leadership skills in direct customer meetings and individual contributors
• Advance Excel experience PowerPoint
• Advance presentation and lead meeting
